  5. For spherical contact lenses the power 
  6. is specified in diopters just as with 
  7. spectacle lens powers.  The lens power 
  8. for RGP lenses can be measured on a 
  9. lensometer just as spectacles, the lens 
  10. is held against the lens stop.  Hydrogel 
  11. lenses require that the water be blotted 
  12. off the surface before measuring them 
  13. in the same way.
